How will we gain access to Side 7?
No, the Side 7 team does not have the legal rights to distribute the Gundam Evolution game files. This project requires you to bring your own files. If you previously had the game downloaded on Steam, you can still redownload Gundam Evolution.
All code written by the Project GEVO team is reverse engineered from the publicly distributed game assets. No source code was obtained for any part of this project.
Will you be distributing the game?
No. Unfortunately, Bamco has put in code to soft-brick the game. Systems modern enough to play Gundam Evolution are likely to either not have any known homebrew exploits or using such exploits would not allow for use of online services.
Will this be playable on consoles?
How will server regions be handled?
The game will determine the user's best geographic location automatically. Additional regions may be added in the future to accommodate users outside of North America, Europe, and Asia. Players from any region will be able to queue with players from any other region when queues are added back.
In order to handle the player base, game servers need to be crowdsourced. We currently have a number of volunteers to conduct hosting in North America and Europe. For regions outside Europe and North America, we allow for the ability to self host servers, allowing users outside of these regions to enjoy a low ping experience in Gundam Evolution.
