We’re back! Side 7 is a community project for players of Gundam Evolution. As of March 29th, users can download the Side 7 launcher to join us in-game. Join our Discord to learn more.
As of March 29th, 2024, the mod is available for download against the Steam and Bamco versions of the game. At this time, some features are limited such as Casual and Competitive matchmaking, which are not available at this time. Players can currently make use of the practice range and explore all maps in a "single player" mode using promo codes.
Because Side 7 is not accepting any payment or donations, servers are crowdsourced from our community. Players may provide their own hardware or rent a server. The Side 7 team is able to assist in system administration for players who are not comfortable setting up a server on their own.
All players and servers will be able to interact, regardless of region. Players and servers will be automatically assigned a geographical region when coming online. When matches are started, the master server will attempt to match the lobby to a region that is closest to the largest number of players in the lobby.
Not at this time. While changing unit attributes has been successfully demonstrated by @jokell, we do not feel comfortable making any changes to the game's current design. Side 7 intends to serve the playerbase, casual or competitive, and we suspect each have their own wants or desires. We do not want to risk alienating one group to try to appease the other. If any changes do end up being made, it'll be backed by data and with heavy consideration from the community, not us, at an indeterminate point in the future.
No. Legally, we, the Side 7 team, do not want to impose risk to the project by accepting donations at this time. All members of the team have volunteered their time and resources to bring this project to fruition, and have no intention of charging members for access to it. If you like the type of work that members of the team have done, you are encouraged to reach out to them on their personal websites or social media.
No. Unfortunately, Bamco has put in code to soft-brick the game. This bricking code, while easy to workaround on PC, is not easy to workaround on consoles. Unfortunately for both this code and traffic redirection, a homebrewed console is required. Systems modern enough to play Gundam Evolution are likely to either not have any known homebrew exploits or using such exploits would not allow for use of online (or would not be viable as they run a significant console ban risk)
